Fifteen young people from the Clos district, in Chartres, serving the inhabitants

For two weeks, the residence for young workers (RJA) Élisabeth de Thuringe, member of the Citizen Council of Les Clos, has been offering assistance to isolated or fragile people. “It’s an aid for carrying groceries, medicines and even bread with the local baker,” says Jean-Louis Bénarab, president of the Citizen Council of the Clos district. “About twenty residents of the neighborhood have already benefited from this service, which is intended to gain momentum, in particular thanks to the posters that we have put up in the neighborhood.”

With the movement Jeunes in Mouv ’

Jean-Louis Bénarab recounts the genesis of this solidarity action: “The Élisabeth de Thuringe residence for young workers (RJA), managed by Catherine Philippe, shelters young people aged 16 to 29. Students, young workers, temporary workers, trainees or foreigners whom we support in their objectives, particularly professional, during their stay in the residence.

“13 young people have joined the Jeunes in Mouv’ movement, “added the president of the Citizen Council. “A movement in which they can get involved in various solidarity actions, in France or abroad. Last year, some participated in the construction of a hospital in a small village in Ukraine. “

Jean-Louis Bénarab continues: An initiative that we set up after contacting the communal social action center, the CCAS, which carries meals on a daily basis and which has a certain number of people listed. The CCAS constitutes the point of entry to benefit from this service. “

“It’s great what these young people are doing, we have to encourage them”

These 13 young people were joined by two young residents of the neighborhood. “They all received training in barrier gestures,” says Jean-Louis Bénarab. “They are all wearing a Jeunes in Mouv cap”, they all have a card that identifies them with their photo, and of course, they have all the equipment necessary to comply with health rules, “said Jean-Louis Bénarab.

“It’s great what these kids are doing, we have to encourage them,” said Farid Benremichi, who lives in an apartment in Speyer Square. Handicapped, this 44 year old man has already called on their services four times. “To go shopping, get medicine, post letters… Each time, it goes without worry. I give them my shopping list and they come back with everything I asked for. If I had to give them a mark out of ten, I would give them ten ”.

Christ Edia, 19, one of the youths from the Elisabeth Young Active Youth Residence (RJA) from Thuringia, joined the Jeunes in Mouv ’movement earlier this month. “I’m in the second year of learning cover,” he says. “Since I am not working at the moment and I do not like to sit around doing nothing, I thought to myself why not help those who need it.” So far, he’s worn the races twice for locals.
