Artemis Fowl star Josh Gad concluded his Reunited Apart webseries on Sunday by assembling the cast of the critically-acclaimed teen comedy Ferris Bueller’s Day Off from 1986.
But the 45-minute charity special about the class-ditching classic eventually transformed into a full-blown tribute to its director – the late great John Hughes.
Among the topics revisited was the 1961 Ferrari 250 GT California Spyder, which in most scenes was actually a replica shell over a Ford V8 stunt car.

‘There was a very nice Ferrari that we were only allowed to step near,’ Matthew Broderick – who starred as Ferris Bueller – recalled.
‘It was a Ford with a plastic Ferrari glued on top of it.’
Gad was shocked to hear that Broderick injured his knee while shooting the climactic running scene, which hindered his performance during the parade scene.
It was at the Von Steuben Day parade where the choreographer Kenny Ortega originally met Jennifer Grey (who played Jeanie Bueller) before they worked together on Dirty Dancing.
