There is an increase in reports of a new scam that is making the rounds of WhatsApp and is linked to an alleged Ferrero initiative.
This is clearly a fake, but it is making the rounds of the web and has already hit several victims. To confirm the “virality” reached by the chain, Ferrero herself took care of it, which published a post on Facebook to warn all its followers of what is happening.
A few days ago, it was Ferrero herself who published a post on Facebook to warn users about a scam that is making the rounds on WhatsApp. “We have been informed that a message is circulating with which a fake competition is being promoted on the occasion of Easter, with the possibility of receiving free samples of our products for those who will answer the questionnaire by providing some personal data” he reads, and then continues: “We wish to inform you that this web page is not managed by Ferrero and that we are totally unrelated to this potentially damaging initiative, not only of our reputation, but also of the personal data of those who access it”.

Therefore, if you too should receive a message regarding the alleged initiative, do not click on it for any reason. The good news is that, in order to start the actual scam mechanism, you need to enter your credit card details. By answering the simple questionnaire, cybercriminals will not have enough information to steal money and sensitive information. Work is underway to try to stop the entire phishing campaign as soon as possible.
