Lottery of receipts, it starts on December 1st: how to request the code

The receipt lottery is ready to go: from Tuesday 1st December on the portal lotteriadegliscontrini.gov.it it will be possible to register and obtain the lottery code to be shown to merchants for cashless payments.

Registering and obtaining the lottery code is an indispensable step in making purchases with electronic money compete starting from 1 January 2021 to the lottery draws which will be monthly, weekly and even yearly. At the time of purchase, strictly from a merchant or a physical operator (e-commerce transactions are excluded in fact), just show the lottery code that will be associated with the purchase made and the purchase receipt.

Receipt lottery, the steps to follow

The receipt lottery draws will start next year. From 1st December it will be possible to proceed with the first four steps:

  • access to the portal and entry of the tax code;
  • acceptance of the privacy policy and insertion of the security code (capcha);
  • display of the code in both alphanumeric and barcode format;
  • saving on your smartphone or printing the lottery code.

The system will automatically check the validity of the tax code: up to 120 lottery codes can be obtained in case of loss. From January 1st it will be possible to compete in the lottery drawings of the receipts, which will be monthly, weekly and yearly. When shopping, just show the lottery code to the shopkeeper, who will thus be associated with the expenditure made. No obligation to keep receipts.

How to participate in the receipt lottery

The lottery is directly related to purchases: just be of age, resident in Italy and show your lottery code to the merchant at the time of payment. The operator will read the lottery code through an optical reader connected to the electronic recorder e will transmit the data to the Revenue Agency.

For every euro spent, up to a maximum of 1000, you will get a virtual ticket. 10 receipts can therefore lead to up to 10,000 virtual tickets, 100 receipts up to 100,000 virtual tickets and so on.

Attention: if the amount spent is greater than one euro, any decimal figure greater than 49 cents will still produce another virtual ticket.
