Ferrari team boss Mattia Binotto is near desperation after a new deception of his racing stable in Formula 1 on Sunday. After the disappointing performances in the first two races in Austria, the Italian racing stable also featured in the Grand Prix of Hungary last weekend.
Sebastian Vettel finished sixth at the Hungaroring and Charles Leclerc only finished eleventh. Both were put behind.
“Getting lapped is very painful for us and the fans,” Binotto grumbled. “This result is extremely disappointing and difficult to digest. Everyone within the Ferrari team should now have the courage to take a critical look at their own work and be prepared to change course. That is necessary, because the current dynamics are unacceptable.”
The team boss, who is ultimately responsible, did not elaborate on his own performance and did not explain exactly what he meant by his appeal to the mechanics and engineers.
“There is no other solution than to get this situation under control,” was all the 50-year-old Italian added to his account.
Ferrari has not been able to break through the hegemony of Mercedes for years and this season, which looks very different due to the corona crisis, seems to turn out to be a complete sof. The red car falls short on all fronts.
