Eleven Sports is partnering with Mediapro “to drive business growth for both groups” and “provide added value to fans”.
The first project in which both media companies collaborate will be the production and distribution of Belgian professional football. They promise football fans “state-of-the-art production” over the next five seasons.
It is still unclear where the matches will eventually be watched. Eleven not only looks at the internet, but also at the digital TV channels. An agreement with providers Proximus, Orange or Telenet has not yet been found. Eleven also hopes to set up a kind of “Netflix of Belgian football”.
Mediapro, which also performs production tasks in La Liga, Serie A and Ligue 1, among others, will also sell Belgian media rights internationally.
