Osnabrück (AP) – Former Bundesliga striker Markus Feldhoff is the new coach of VfL Osnabrück. That gave the table 15. of the 2nd Bundesliga known.
After stints at Bayer Leverkusen, Borussia Mönchengladbach and VfL Wolfsburg, the 46-year-old played for Osnabrück from 2004 to 2008. In the 2008/09 season he was also an assistant coach at VfL. He is currently taking over from Marco Grote, who was released two weeks ago. Under Grote and interim coach Florian Fulland, VfL recently suffered nine defeats in a row.
“In the conversations with Markus Feldhoff, two things became clear very quickly: He not only has the necessary professional competence, he also brings the energy and passion that is needed in this situation to achieve our common goals,” said the Osnabrück native Managing Director Benjamin Schmedes. Most recently, Feldhoff worked as an assistant trainer for Werder Bremen and Hertha BSC.
