Federal Reserve sees no need for action Markets macro

(Reuters) – The U.S. Federal Reserve wants to hold on to its interest rate break for the time being despite the virus crisis in China. The monetary policy stance is likely to remain appropriate “for a while”, the minutes of the meeting of late January said on Wednesday.

Since the outbreak of the coronavirus epidemic in China, there has been increasing speculation in the markets that this Fed may cut interest rates mid-year due to negative effects on the US economy.
