‘FC Utrecht receives’ small contribution ‘from Zwolle: Strieder leaves permanently’

PEC Zwolle may soon greet FC Utrecht mercenary Rico Strieder again. The 27-year-old controller played six games for PEC before the corona stop and will soon make the switch, the Stentor reports.

The regional medium expects the deal to be ratified immediately after the weekend and the German to sign until 2022. Strieder is still under contract for one year in Utrecht, but according to the Stentor, PEC and FC Utrecht have now found each other: the number 15 of the prematurely ended Eredivisie season makes a ‘small contribution’ and sends part of the transfer fee to FC Utrecht.

In all likelihood, the breakthrough in the Strieder conversations is thanks to ex-teammate Gustavo Hamer. The 23-year-old Brazilian is about to sign with Coventry City, which is reportedly willing to pay PEC 1 to 1.5 million euros. Part of that transfer fee would therefore be invested in Strieder.

The PEC selection for the 2020/2021 season is slowly but surely taking shape. Pelle Clement and Mike Hauptmeijer extended their contract this week and club icon Bram van Polen announced earlier that he would stick to it for a year.
