FC Rosengard Sports Director Therese Sjogran Reflects on Tough Season and Future Plans

In the 2022 season, FC Rosengård won the women’s league for the second year in a row and also took home the Swedish Cup.

This year, however, they fell flat and finished seventh in the series. Sports director Therese Sjögran recently admitted to the Football Channel that it had been tough.

– I feel for the team. We are one, so it is clear that it has been a difficult season and certainly not what we wanted. We have not performed, she said in October.

As the year is almost over, Sjögran now reflects on the season.

– There has been a lot of frustration and it’s not just from me. It’s from managers and players and everything. Why doesn’t it work? You haven’t slept much this year. I’m still sitting here now and have survived, she tells Aftonbladet and continues:

– It has been a very tough year, but at the same time I have said it a thousand times. I’d rather be in this environment and have all the pressure and stress and anxiety and crap and have the opportunity to win something. But it is clear that you did not feel very well this year.

Sjögran, who turned 47, has been sports director at the club since 2015. She is ready for next year, but makes no secret of the fact that she has reached the end of the road.

– It is clear that there are not many years left, either. That’s the way it is and it’s “fine”, she says to Aftonbladet.

Sjögran lived in Rosengård also as a player, between 2012 and 2015.
