FBI / Event / Low Roar, Palladium Riga, May 13

On May 13, the ambient post-rock electronic music group Low Roar will visit the concert hall Palladium Rīga for the first time with a delicate sound of folk music filled with nostalgia and tenderness. Tickets can be purchased in the “Biļešu Serviss” network.

Low Roar is a project of American-Icelandic Ryan Karazi, whose music is characterized by airy and ambient sounds. Ryan Karazija is an artist-traveler, but his journey in life and music is not just about himself. It also includes listeners who find the path they want to take in the artist’s music, or a feeling they have long been looking for. After working with indirock group Audrye Sessions, Ryan Karazija moved to Iceland, where he also started his new project. After moving, the artist turned to a much more introverted and intimate sound of music, which was greatly influenced by local Icelandic folk groups. Together with Tonequake Records, Low Roar released their debut album Low Roar on November 1, 2011.

Low Roar’s musical creation has been compared to bands such as Keaton Henson and Bon Iver. Delicate, folk, ambient music sound filled with nostalgia, tenderness and longing. Low Roar’s second album “0” in 2014 was a breakthrough for the band. After many great reviews from music critics, Low Roar went on tour all over the world. The aesthetics of the album “0” were compared to Radiohead and Sigur Rós, mainly due to its sophisticated, almost epic sound at times.

However, the best still followed. In 2016, while in Iceland, video game legend Hideo Kojima unveiled Low Roar music in-store. After Sony contacted the artist, Hideo Kojima chose Low Roar music for his Death Stranding game. The band’s songs were included in the game’s commercial, which was released in 2016. After the premiere, the American-Icelandic project was opened to hundreds of thousands of listeners around the world. Working with Kojima was a significant turning point in Low Roar’s musical career. Kojima describes Low Roar music as sensual and unique.

Low Roar’s latest album “maybe tomorrow…”, during which the band will visit us, in the concert hall Palladium, was released last summer. The songs on the album are characterized by gentle and soothing sounds with a special, emotional feeling. This album is one of the most expressive in the works of Low Roar, because it is accompanied by a completely new sound of the artist Ryan Karazi, which fully includes the listeners in its story.
