Farmers demonstrate against nitrogen policy on viaduct near Enschede | Inland

The police went to take a look at the viaduct in the morning after a report, but then the farmers had already left, a spokeswoman said. “It was probably a very short action.”

On Friday there were also protests by farmers against the government policy on nitrogen. Minister Christianne van der Wal (Nature and Nitrogen) announced that day that emissions must be reduced significantly so that nature can recover.

In the evening she was then visited at home by dozens of farmers who presented the minister with her ‘letter of resignation’. This led to a lot of criticism, including from MPs. There were also protest actions with parked tractors in Brabant and Drenthe.

Farmers’ collective Agractie wants to campaign on 22 June with tractors in The Hague against the cabinet’s approach to the nitrogen problem. The foreman of Farmers Defense Force (FDF), Mark van den Oever, has announced that there will be earlier actions as far as he is concerned.
