It is not clear exactly what the farmers at Schiphol intended to do, says a spokesman for the military police. “Apparently they wanted to drive through the Schiphol tunnel to Schiphol.”
After consultation with the military police, the group turned around. The farmers were diverted from the airport site under supervision, said the spokesman, who described the atmosphere on the spot as “friendly”.
Distribution center blocked
Local media also announced actions in Breda and Deventer. In Breda, about a hundred farmers have blocked the access road to a Jumbo distribution center with tractors. In Deventer it is a transport company that has been disposed of. This would be about forty farmers. Farmers would also gather at a distribution center of Coop supermarket and a police station in the town of Overijssel.
