An 8-year-old boy in Pasar Rebo, East Jakarta, suffered burns to his legs. The boy was burned by his playmate by using hand sanitizer.
The victim’s cousin, GA, told the story that the incident occurred on Tuesday (29/3). Initially, the victim and the perpetrator were buying martabak.
“The initial chronology of the victim and the perpetrator was buying martabak food. Well, at first maybe they were joking around, maybe the perpetrator was pushed, the perpetrator was splashed with oil from the martabak,” said GA at his residence, Saturday (2/3/2022). ).
Shortly after the victim returned home, the perpetrator and his two friends chased and arrested the victim. The three perpetrators planned to burn the victim using a gun hand sanitizer.
“After that, the victim was on his way home, again on his way home being chased from behind by the perpetrator. Before being chased, the perpetrator said to his two friends, ‘catch A, burn, let’s go’, he said like that as soon as I asked, “he said.
From the CCTV footage circulating, it can be seen that the fire grabbed the victim’s leg. The victim rolled on the ground until the three perpetrators fled.
The witness who saw the incident rushed to the victim’s house to inform the victim’s parents. The next day, the families of the victims and perpetrators met for mediation at the house of the head of the RT.
“The mediation was the next day, the second day, not directly. Because at that time we had not seen the CCTV. That night we met the victim, the perpetrator, and the RT we also mediated at the RT’s house,” he said.
Case Resolved Family
According to Giri, the perpetrator and the victim were friends and often played together. It is known that the three perpetrators are junior high school students.
After mediation, the victim’s family finally agreed to make peace. With a note, the perpetrator can be held responsible for what he did to the victim.
“We are neighbors, we meet every day if for example we can still (in a family way). The point is that the perpetrator, the perpetrator’s family, is responsible don’t be like that lol. Being responsible for what his child did, he must treat the victim, because the victim is traumatized, he must also be responsible for being brought to a psychologist, a psychiatrist as well, basically until it’s finished,” he added.
Previously, an 8-year-old boy had burns on his legs. The victim was allegedly burned by his peers while joking. The case is now resolved amicably.
The police have questioned the parties regarding this incident. However, both parties agreed to amicable and agreed not to proceed to the legal process.
