False Fire Alarm Evacuates 700 Visitors from Villingen-Schwenningen Leisure Center

The visit of around 700 people to a leisure center in Villingen-Schwenningen ended abruptly on Saturday evening. The reason: fire alarm. But it didn’t burn at all.

The “Le Prom” leisure center in Villingen-Schwenningen (Schwarzwald-Baar district) was evacuated on Saturday evening due to an intentionally triggered alarm. Around 700 visitors had to leave the building. The leisure center includes, among other things, a bowling center and restaurants.

Evacuation in Villingen-Schwenningen: investigations are ongoing

A previously unknown person hit the fire alarm in the building’s parking garage around 7:30 p.m., the police said on Sunday. Around 30 emergency services then responded. It quickly became clear on site that it was a false alarm. According to the police, this was triggered intentionally and improperly.

The investigators are now looking for the perpetrator. Witnesses who can provide information should contact the Schwenningen police station.
