BANDUNG, KOMPAS.TV – The Head of Public Relations of the West Java Police, Kombes Pol. Erdi A Chaniago, confirmed that the visit of a number of members of the General Criminal Investigation Directorate of the West Java Police to Bahar Smith’s residence was not for sowan.
According to him, the visit of the members was aimed at issuing an Investigation Commencement Order (SPDP) for the hate speech case involving Bahar.
“Today we clarified that our investigators were not there, but submitted the SPDP regarding the handling we are currently working on, so they were not sowans,” said Erdi at the West Java Police, Bandung City, Thursday (29/12/2021).

As is known, the SPDP submission was also circulated in a videotape that was spread on social media.
In the recording, the police from the criminal investigation appear to directly give the SPDP to Bahar.
In the video that circulated, a number of people were seen wearing the uniforms of members of the criminal investigators.
Meanwhile, Bahar seemed to be talking to those present at his house.
Regarding the narrative on social media that said the police had gone to Bahar, Erdi said that his party had not yet investigated the matter.
The investigation team is still focused on the matter involving Bahar.
