As part of its efforts to improve the privacy and security of its messaging service, Facebook has begun deploying in Delivery courier a series of invoicing focused on disappearing calls and messages.
First, the social media giant has implemented support for making voice and video calls with end-to-end code protection (E2EE). Although the application would already offer this security option since 2016, it was limited to text chats.
This function makes it possible for the content of messages and calls to remain encrypted from the moment they leave the sender’s device until they reach the receiver. This means that no one else, including Facebook, you can see or hear what is being sent or said.

Coming with this novelty, Facebook Messenger has updated the function of people who disappear within encrypted chats from end to end with a new configuration that offers users greater control over the time that they are permanently visible and content that they send.
“People don’t always want or need their messages to stick around and timer controls allow someone to decide when their messages expire in chat,” he argued Ruth Kricheli, Director of Product Management at Messenger.
Now the application offers more options for those users who choose how much time they want to allow to pass before all new messages in a conversation disappear. The range is from five seconds to 24 hours.

Additionally, Facebook can’t help but follow a number of additional security features with a select group of users over the next several weeks. These include end-to-end encryption for group chats and calls on Messenger and for direct messages on Instagram.
Facebook begins to enable and the ‘dark path’ for Android mobile users
Facebook already has the dark theme enabled on the website and in Messenger. Now, it has started to activate this interface in the Android application for a limited number of users in different parts of the world.
