Facebook and Messenger crash. Logging in and sending messages (update) does not work

Facebook and the associated Messenger are struggling with a crash, as a result of which users cannot access the website and messenger. This is due to the rapidly growing number of crash reports on downdetector.

Facebook and Messenger are not fully functional due to a possible failure. They have appeared on downdetector for several minutes user reportswho signal problems with displaying the Facebook website and logging in, and finally sending and receiving messages in the case of Messenger.

For now it is difficult to say what is the cause of the failure and how long it will last. Only in the last dozen or so minutes, downdetector received several hundred fault reports – both in the case of Facebook and Messenger.

The number of reports on Facebook and Messenger is growing rapidly

So far, the largest number of reports about the failure of Facebook and Messenger have come from Warsaw, Kraków, Lublin, Wrocław and the vicinity of the Tri-City. It is possible that the failure is not nationwide or manifests itself in a slightly different way for specific users. At the time of writing this text, some of our editorial staff can still use Facebook and Messenger without any problems. Others, however, have problems.

According to reports in downdetector, the failure has also affected the Instagram website and application. Here, too, there are problems with the website and logging in. This is not a big surprise considering that Facebook is the owner. Shared infrastructure could also mean problems with WhatsApp soon.
