JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Minister of Education and Culture (Mendikbud) Nadiem Makarim say, all schools are allowed to hold face-to-face learning once they have met the six conditions.
The six conditions emphasize the support of health facilities to prevent potential transmission of Covid-19.
“All schools are only allowed face to face when we meet check list. There are six check list, “said Nadiem in an online press conference which was held on Friday (20/11/2020).
First, the problem of sanitation and hygiene. This includes toilets, hand washing facilities, and disinfectants.
Second, access to health care facilities, readiness to apply mandatory masks, and owning thermogun.
“Fifth, mapping the residents of the education unit, must know who has the comorbidity of the teachers and students, who do not have safe transportation access and of course the travel history of areas with a high level of risk,” he continued.
Sixth, there is approval from the school committee and representatives of the parents of guardians.
Without the consent of the parents’ representatives, said Nadiem, the school was not allowed to open.
“So these six are a checklist to provide assurance that we can open the school,” said Nadiem.
Nadiem also emphasized that currently there is a misperception that if face-to-face lessons are held again, school activities will continue as usual.
“This is not true and please also help it be socialized in each region that even if the school has met all the criteria and check list to carry out face-to-face learning, but proper health protocols must still be implemented, “he added.
Previously, Nadiem explained the policy to open face to face school only applies from the even semester of the 2020-2021 school year.
So, it will be effectively implemented in January 2021.
