14th place in the table
Second division club FAC and head coach Mario Handl split three days before the season continued. The reasons given by the Floridsdorfer on Tuesday were the “sporty season so far mixed”. The FAC is 14th in the 16-league, two points ahead of the GAK and Kapfenberg.
Assistant coach Aleksandar Gitsov will lead the team until the end of the season in collaboration with sports manager Lukas Fischer. At the restart of the championship, the FAC welcomes Steyr on Friday (6.30 pm).
“Due to the developments in the past weeks and months, Mario and we have now decided to end the cooperation with immediate effect,” explained Managing Director Christian Kirchengast. Before that, it was clear that the club would be looking for a new head coach after this season. Last summer, Handl rose from co-head coach to head coach.
