Monaco is keen to organize its Formula 1 Grand Prix at the end of May despite the coronavirus pandemic. He could start the 2020 season.
If the season had gone smoothly, the Monaco GP would have constituted the 7th round of the World Championship on May 24. After canceling the start of the season in Australia and postponing the races in Bahrain, Vietnam and China, F1 must reorganize its calendar.
F1 management recently hinted that the start of the season would take place at the end of May. Thus, Monaco could kick off the 2020 Championship. However, the decisions concerning the Dutch GP at Zandvoort and the Spanish GP at Barcelona scheduled for May 3 and 10 remain to be seen.
F1 sports chief Ross Brawn is counting on a season of at least 17 Grand Prix for this year. Primarily, the season included 22 races. To give itself the chance to organize a maximum of events, F1 could give up its summer break in August. Some Grand Prix could also be shortened to two days instead of three.
