84 new cases of the “Delta” variant of COVID-19 have been found in the country, announced the National Center for Infectious and Parasitic Diseases / NCIPD /.
New clinical samples were successfully analyzed by new generation cellogenomic sequencing, 84 of which were “Delta” variant and 1 – “Alpha” variant.
Clinical samples were taken from patients with COVID-19 between 8 and 28 July 2021 and were sent from 26 different hospitals in 18 districts in the country.
Most cases of Delta have been identified in Sofia, Burgas, Varna and Stara Zagora. Of the infected, 14 were hospitalized, 57 were left for home treatment; nine were cured and four died.
