Extinction Rebellion activists are organizing actions this Friday in the north to denounce companies they believe are making climate change worse.
Mobilized in Mardyck and Lille
Several dozen activists initially published themselves opposite the entrance to the TotalEnergies depot in Mardyck, near Dunkirk, to denounce a “criminal” company for the climate. Some of the protesters painted the perimeter wall with molasses, which is embossed with the company logo.
Shortly after in Lille, another action: about fifteen demonstrators settled around 11:30 in Place Rihour, in front of the Crédit du Nord branch, accused of “financing fossil fuels”: What we want is to warn people of what is happening. Many people have accounts with Société Générale or other banks and do not know how their savings are used to finance oil and ecocide projects. explains one of the activists mobilized for this action.
