The HPV vaccination campaign for young adults has been extended by six months until June 1, 2024. HPV vaccination consists of 2 injections. The first injection must be achieved in 2023. In 2024, only the second injection can still be obtained for free. The Ministry of VWS has decided that young adults (born between 1996 and 2003) who have had their first HPV shot in 2023 will have longer to get the second shot free of charge. but has now been extended until June 1, 2024. This gives the young adults the opportunity to complete the series, even if they were too late to get the first shot or, for example, cannot get the second shot in 2023 due to pregnancy or medical treatment. There must be at least six months between the two injections.
