An explosion near the Sportpaleis in Deurne, Antwerp, damaged a facade of a house and several parked cars on Monday evening. The police are investigating whether there is a link with the drug environment. A few kilometers away, two unoccupied trucks went up in flames.
The facts took place around 11:30 p.m. The area was startled by a loud bang. The resident of the building that was apparently targeted was not injured.
According to the Antwerp police, the man is not known for drug offenses. “The circumstances are being further investigated,” said police spokesman Willem Migom of the Antwerp police zone. The Dovo mine clearance service and the laboratory arrived on site to investigate.
Trucks
A few kilometers further away, at the Straatsburgdok in the vicinity of the Ikon discotheque and the Kinepolis, two trucks were set on fire last night. These were unoccupied vehicles and no injuries were reported. The fire brigade, police and forensic laboratory arrived on the scene.
