Explained link between vitamin D and COVID-19 incidence – Russian newspaper

The aggravation of the situation with the incidence of coronavirus, which is observed in autumn, is explained, among other things, by a lack of vitamin D. The deficiency of the latter is associated with a decrease in solar activity.

Told about this in an interview with radio Sputnik doctor and TV presenter Sergei Malozemov. He clarified that vitamin D helps to strengthen the immune system, which as a result increases the body’s resistance to the virus. Therefore, Sergei Malozemov advised to obtain biologically active substances from food – primarily from fatty sea fish. You don’t have to spend on salmon, herring and mackerel are also fine, but not too salty, he added.

Note that researchers from the University of Birmingham in the new work came to the conclusionthat a sufficient level of vitamin D enhances the protective functions of the body and vice versa.
