European League Group Stage: Liverpool’s Victory and Darwin Núñez’s Goal Celebrations

BRATISLAVA – FC Liverpool players entered the group stage of the European League with a 3:1 victory over the home team LASK Linz. The English team confirmed the role of the favorite in the opening match of Group E on the ground of the Austrian opponent, although they were losing after the first half after Florian Flecker’s goal.

Darwin Nunez from the eleven and Luis Diaz took care of the turnaround for “The Reds” shortly after the change of sides, in the end substitute Mohamed Salah secured the triumph of the guests. In the second meeting of the “ečka”, Toulouse drew 1:1 with the home Royal Union Saint-Gilloise.

West Ham United turned their Group A match against Serbian side TSC Bačka Topola with a 3-1 win. The triumph of the “Hammers” was decided in the 70th minute by the Ghanaian representative Mohammed Kudus, and in the end, the Czech midfielder Tomáš Souček prevailed.

In the B-group meeting against Olympique Marseille, Ajax squandered a two-goal lead and ended up drawing 3:3, Gabonese gunner Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored two goals for the visitors. Brighton lost in the second match of the group with AEK Athens 2:3.

The Prague giants did not hesitate

Sparta Prague football players in the lineup with Slovak representative Lukáš Haraslín successfully entered the group stage of the European League. In the C-group duel, they won 3:2 over Aris Limassol at Letná. Although they conceded from a penalty kick in the 11th minute, they turned the score around in the first half thanks to two goals by Ladislav Krejčí. After the change of sides, Martin Vitík added the third accurate hit of the “Reds”.

Pražská Slavia, in the lineup with Slovak representative Michal Tomič, won three points on the Servette Geneva pitch after a 2:0 victory. The Czech vice-champion was missing midfielder Jakub Hromada due to injury, and Ivan Schranz was also unavailable. He did not travel with the expedition to Switzerland, as he was giving birth to his son on the day of departure. AS Rím won 2:1 at the field of Šeriffa Tiraspoľ. In Group H, Bayer Leverkusen did not give the Swedish Häcken a chance and won clearly 4:0. The semi-finalist of the previous edition started brilliantly against the debutant in the group stage of one of the European cup competitions and jumped to a two-goal difference after only a quarter of an hour. He added two more goals after the break.
