Former footballer Cătălin Agafiței died on Thursday, September 21, at the age of 47.

Cătălin Agafiței lost his battle with the disease at only 47 years old. A former junior of Farului, Agafiței played for Constanta teams in the second and third echelons, but at the same time he was also a respected teacher of physical education and sports, contributing to the education of children at the Gheorghe Hagi Academy.
“The Constanta Lighthouse and the Hagi Academy are with the family of the former footballer and ex-junior of the Lighthouse, Cătălin Agafiței, in these difficult moments. Former full-time teacher of School no. 24 and director of School no. 3 in Constanța, Cătălin Agafiței was actively involved including the school education of dozens of children from the Gheorghe Hagi Academy”, according to a post on the Facebook page of the Farul Constanța team.
