Europe stocks up amid reports of coronavirus drugs

European stock indexes rose after news of the definition of drugs that could help against a new type of coronavirus. The British FTSE 100 rose 0.57%, the French CAC 40 – 0.85%, the German DAX – 1.48%. The consolidated index of the largest enterprises in the Stoxx Europe 600 region at the close of trading increased by 1.23%.

Earlier, a group of scientists from Zhejiang University in China announced the effectiveness of Abidol and Darunavir in the treatment of coronavirus. However, the World Health Organization reported that effective remedies for the disease do not yet exist.

Most Russian doctors doubt the effectiveness of antiviral drugs in the treatment of coronavirus. Only about 10% of specialists surveyed fear a large-scale epidemic in Russia.
