Europe is gripping riots everywhere, this is the culprit

Jakarta, CNBC IndonesiaThis week’s conditions Europe gripping. A number of large-scale demonstrations took place on the Blue Continent.

Not only demonstrations, demonstrations also led to the burning of a number of public facilities and goods such as cars. Riot police were also deployed to secure the demonstrators.

A number of countries such as the Netherlands, Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Austria, Denmark to Italy had to deal with protesters. In the Netherlands, demonstrations ended in three days of clashes, in which protesters threw stones and were met with water cannons and warning shots.

The same thing happened in Belgium, where police vehicles were vandalized by demonstrators. Some threw fireworks at the officers who responded with tear gas and water cannon.

In Croatia thousands of citizens also marched in Zagreb showing their anger. Meanwhile, in Italy, some residents demonstrated at Rome’s Circus Maximus to oppose government policies.

So what makes people angry?

This demo is not without reason. The protesters did not accept the plans of the governments of these countries to impose restrictions until the lockdown (lockdown) total or partial due to the surge in Covid-19 cases.

In the Netherlands, the country applies three weeks lockdown partially after the spike in Covid-19. Crowds were banned from watching sports matches while bars and restaurants had to close early.

In Belgium, citizens are asked to show proof of the vaccine to public places. Mask policies were tightened and most residents had to work from home four days a week until December.

Tightening of masks and restrictions have also occurred in other countries from Germany to Croatia. But the most stringent is done by Austria.

That country, do lockdown total over the next 20 days. The government also requires injections of the Covid-19 vaccine in February 2022.

Austrian Chancellor Alexander Schallenberg said this was important in the midst of the current rejection of the vaccine. “Because of the radical anti-vaccine opponents, fake news and too many unvaccinated people,” he stressed.

This latest restriction is due to the increase in the number of Covid-19 cases. Quoting the data bank Reuters,European countries saw a significant increase in cases on average, with the Netherlands, Germany, Austria, Slovakia, Denmark, Norway and Hungary at peak infections.

Meanwhile, in detail, the case curve per European country has shown a significant jump in data when compared to the beginning of last October. The Netherlands is currently at the level of 20 thousand cases per day, far from at the beginning of last October which recorded only 1,800 to 2,000 cases per day, a jump of more than 11 times.

In Germany, a similar increase occurred with the Rhine River country still at around 45,000 daily infections, well above the 7,000 level in early October. Belgium also reported a nine-fold increase from 2,000 infections to the current level of 18,000.

A number of hospitals in several countries are also reportedly overwhelmed. Romania reported a buildup of Covid-19 bodies in hospitals while the Netherlands began transferring patients to Germany while the Panzer country transferred patients to Italy.

The World Health Organization (WHO) admits that this spike was due to the euphoria of lifting the lockdown that was deemed too premature. This is compounded by the large number of groups who do not want to receive the vaccine.

“This is another reminder, as we have said many times, that vaccines do not replace the need for other preventive measures,” WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said last week.

“The vaccine reduces the risk of hospitalization, severe illness and death, but does not completely prevent transmission.”

In its latest warning, WHO said the death toll from Covid cases would reach 2 million people. There will be an additional 70,000 new deaths in March 2022.
