BOLASPORT.COM – Portugal National Team currently ranks second standings best 3rd place team EURO 2020, whereas Spanish national team threatened to fall.
EURO 2020 using the same system as EURO 2016, which uses 6 groups and the knockout stages start from the last 16.
A total of 12 teams that managed to finish in the top two positions from each group automatically qualify for the knockout phase.
While the other four teams that took part in the round of 16 were the third best according to the overall count.
Thus, there will be six teams competing for four tickets to the round of 16 EURO 2020 through this alternative route.

So far, the occupants of the 3rd EURO 2020 standings are the Austrian national team, the Finnish national team, the Croatian national team, the Portugal national team, the Spanish national team and the Swiss national team.
The Swiss national team is the only team that is sure to fight for a ticket to the last 16 of EURO 2020 via the 3rd place after completing all their matches in Group A.
The Swiss national team ended their journey in Group A by finishing in 3rd place with 4 points and -1 on goal difference.
