With February concluded, the Cuban Telecommunications Company SA (Etecsa) reported on the new international recharge special for the beginning of March, which offers several gigabytes (GB) as a bonus and its famous “unlimited” Internet.
In order to enjoy these benefits, users must receive the equivalent of between 500 Cuban pesos (CUP) and 1,250 CUP in foreign currency from abroad. With this, they will receive a bonus 14 GB and the ability to access the Internet for free, as long as this is done during the early hours of the morning.
The international recharge special will be available starting next Monday, March 4, and will last throughout the month, ending on March 31 at 11:59 pm

The bonus GB allows you to browse any network and visit any page inside and outside of Cuba, as long as it has not been blocked by Etecsa. For its part, “unlimited” Internet will only be available between midnight and 7:00 am, a time when the network is notoriously slow due to those who take advantage of this benefit.
It is important to remember that Etecsa manages the exchange rate of 25 CUP for each US dollar (USD), so to reach the minimum of the promotion you need to pay about 20 USD, this plus a small commission handled by distributors abroad. .
The latter has been strongly criticized by their clients, who point out that that same amount of money should be able to recharge them about 2,400 CUP, this if the official exchange rate managed by the Cadecas (Exchange Houses) in Cuba was respected. The situation worsens if the price charged in the informal market is taken into account, where one dollar is quoted at around 300 CUP.
The promotion recently announced by Etecsa has been received with apparent annoyance by users on social networks, who point out that it does not even offer balance bonuses, as has been done in recent months.
