Czech snowboarder Ester Ledecká once again climbed to the top. In Pamporovo, Bulgaria, she dominated the parallel slalom race on a snowboard, when after winning the qualification, she didn’t even give her opponents a chance in the elimination fights. The second Czech at the start, Zuzana Maděrová, equaled her best result in the World Cup with fourth place.

Ester Ledecká returned to snowboarding after less than ten months. She succeeded in the qualification in Pamporovo, Bulgaria, as is her good habit. She won it. She beat the second Italian Dalmassová by 35 hundredths of a second in the sum of both runs. Zuzana Maděrová was also happy about the progress, who took tenth place with a loss of 3.08 to Ledecká.

Both Czech competitors did well in the round of 16 races. Ledecká fulfilled the role of the favorite against the Swiss Baetschiová, whom she defeated by more than five seconds. The progress of Madeira was surprising, as she beat the Italian Coratti by six hundredths of a second. Even the quarterfinals ended in success for the Czechs.

Ledecká overtook the Swiss Zoggová and Maděrová also managed her race, beating the Italian Dalmassová by 32 hundredths of a second, who was defending second place from the qualification. At this point, she was already assured of at least repeating her best result from the World Cup, which was fourth place in Cortina d’Ampezzo.

The Czechs could still dream of going to the final against each other, especially after Ledecká advanced to it after the scalp of the Japanese Miki. In the end, however, this was not possible, as Maděrová fell in the semi-final race against Hofmeisterová, and she had to fight for bronze, which would be her first medal in the World Cup.

But the 20-year-old Czech barely managed the race for third place. She lost to the Japanese Miki by 15 hundredths of a second. At the finish line, however, she could be happy with Ester Ledecka, who finished for her 22nd victory in the World Cup. Her opponent, Theresia Ramona Hofmeisterová, fell in the final, and thanks to that, Ledecká easily won the gold medal.

I want to thank the organizers very much. They did a great job, the slope was very well prepared, even though it snowed heavily all day. I am also very happy for Zuzka Maděrová, who finished fourth. I only found that out after the race, because unfortunately I’m so out of it and I’m only looking at myself to make the best possible ride. But I wish her very much. She certainly had a great ride and deserved it. I really enjoyed the race. I’m glad that I proved that I belong to the top again,Ledecká said after the race in an audio message sent to the media.
