Estelle Cochard is on the “Eure-et-Loir-Ecologie” list: “Another model is possible”

She leads a list that wants to be environmentalist and citizen. Estelle Cochard, regional councilor (EÉLV) and former deputy mayor of Mainvilliers, is launching for the first time in the race for senatorial elections, at the head of the “Eure-et-Loir Écologie” list, supported by the EÉLV and Generation Ecology.

“This candidacy is that of a team”, explained, this Thursday, September 17, the head of the list, surrounded by three of his running mate and environmental activists, in front of the Compa, in Chartres.

Economic development

“The reflection began before the municipal elections and continued afterwards. There has been a great dynamic in several municipalities in the department, such as Chartres, Mainvilliers or Droue-sur-Drouette. In France, the landscape has changed. We are not in Bordeaux, Marseille or Annecy, where environmental mayors have been elected, but in Eure-et-Loir, we have the capacity, beyond the EÉLV party, to represent an environmental and citizen force ”, underlines Estelle Cochard.

The running mates come around a common point: the ecological emergency. “If we do not bring the issue of environmental issues into the debate, who is going to do it in our territory? No one… ”, Estelle Cochard believes.

Elected municipal councilor in Droue-sur-Drouette, on a citizens’ list, Jean-Bernard Gramunt, in fourth position on this list in the senatorial elections, believes that “ecology and industry go together”.

“The Senate must restore strength to the territories” believes Gérard Larcher, its president

The candidate defends “intelligent economic development”. And to clarify: “A relocated company means less transport between China and France. “

The subject of mobility is one of the concerns on the list, opposed to the A 154 motorway project.

Agricultural issues are also at the heart of their concerns. “I am the daughter of farmers. I have always had my feet in the ground. I saw hedges disappear in the fields, farmers go into debt. Another model is possible. This is not a figment of the imagination, ”insists Estelle Cochard.

“We also provide solutions”

In this area, the candidate denounces backtracking. The reintroduction of neonicotinoids in the beet fields, wanted by the government, angered her. These “bee-killing” pesticides were no longer authorized in France since September 1, 2018.

Sandra Renda, in fifth position on the list, regrets that “ecology is often presented in caricature”. The candidate, who presented herself during the last senatorial elections in 2014, also in fifth position on the environmentalist list, wants the voice of citizens to be heard in the Senate. “What interests us is the daily life of people: housing, transport, food. We denounce, but we also provide solutions. “

In 2014, the environmentalist list, carried by Aïcha Jabrane, obtained 1.42% of the votes in the senatorial elections in Eure-et-Loir.

The list. Estelle Cochard (EÉLV), 55, regional advisor, local manager at Pôle emploi, head of the “Eure-et-Loir Écologie” list, supported by the EÉLV and Génération écologie parties.
