The municipality of Athis-Mons, which intends to promote the establishment of multi-professional health centers, MSP, on its territory, will support three new projects. “We want to do everything possible to promote installation projects for healthcare professionals. And we support multi-professional health centers which represent one of the effective solutions to the difficulties of access to care ”indicates Jean-Jacques Grousseau, mayor (PS) of the city. The municipality has thus decided to support the move of the multi-professional health center, Léonie Chaptal, in order to allow it to grow.

Located in the political district of the town of Noyer Renard, the MSP has notably launched a series of prevention initiatives (therapeutic education workshops, sports coaching, the fight against diabetes and chronic diseases, etc.). Prevention actions against excessive use of screens are also on the program, in partnership with an association of speech therapists and the support of pediatricians and midwives. It is planned to reinstall the health center in the premises of the former Post Office, owned by the I3F donor. This change will allow it to gain more than 200 m2 and to welcome new health professionals. The municipality will support the work of transforming La Poste into a medical center, for a budget of 100 to 200,000 euros. A deliberation in this direction must soon be presented to the municipal council.

Relieve hospital emergencies

The town hall also supports the request for labeling filed with the regional health agency, ARS, by a second MSP, the Pyramid, in order to become a medical center. The structure already welcomes patients in the evenings and at weekends. The labeling would allow it to fit into the departmental network of permanent care and to receive more patients. The MSP also intends to put in place actions to help the elderly at home and to fight against overexposure of children to screens. “The request, which we are supporting, for the MSP to be labeled as an emergency medical center would also be a way of relieving hospital emergencies a little,” underlines the mayor.
