Three people hijacked a helicopter with a female pilot in Deurne. The three armed men summoned the pilot to fly to the prison of Vorst-Berkendaal. They wanted to land there, perhaps to free prisoners.

The prison system also confirms that a helicopter has hovered over the prison in Forest. “We have counted the inmates in all prisons and there are no people missing,” said Kathleen Van De Vijver, spokesman for the prison system. “All further activities within the prisons are suspended today.”
