In addition to Kaupert, FinanzPortal24 GmbH from Burbach and Wilhelm Klein GmbH from Wilnsdorf also had their family-friendly corporate structures evaluated for the first time. Twelve other companies from Siegerland and the Olpe district were able to extend their certificate for the first or even the second time, including the Krombacher brewery in Kreuztal and the Caritas Association in Siegen-Wittgenstein.

District Administrator: Important Guiding Principle for Young People

“Certificates are temporary documents that companies need to earn again and again,” explained Olpe District Administrator Theo Melcher. Since 2009, over 200 companies in southern Westphalia have been certified for their family friendliness. More than 40 local companies have been awarded so far in Siegen-Wittgenstein and Olpe.

“Especially for young people who are planning their careers, it is important to know how to combine professional work with nursing work – such as childcare, elderly care and housework,” said the district administrator. Andreas Müller at the closing event of the seventh free certificate round.

An open ear for special personal situations

The goal of the certificate is to give companies in the region an impetus for employee retention and modern human resource management. At the same time, it serves as a high-profile competitive advantage when hiring skilled workers. To address them specifically, companies should take into account the different lifestyles and needs of different generations – this was demonstrated at a lecture by Dr. Julia Naskrent Klar, Professor of Marketing at Siegen University of Economics and Management (FOM).
