Erik Vetter is hero of the week

Erik Vetter is the name of the new “Hero of the Week”: The SPORTBUZZER users voted the 21-year-old SC Eichsfeld player the winner with a vote of 28.9 percent in the weekly vote. Tobias Gabel (VfL Olympia Duderstadt) and Tom Wassmann (JFV Rhume-Oder) came in.

Vetter had scored a hat trick in his team’s 7-2 derby victory in the 1st district football class B against TSV Ebergötzen – it was already his second in the third game of the season. In the game in between, he contributed an assist. Vetter, who works as a police inspector in Alfeld, has only just started again after a two and a half year football break, during which he has been studying. “Of course I’m happy that it’s going so well,” he says and passes the compliment on to his teammates. “In the offensive game there are many younger players who are all goal-hungry.”

Cousin, who is at home in the storm or on the right wing, was an offensive player even in his youth. For a career à la Jean-Manuel Mbom, with whom he previously played at JFV Göttingen and who is now playing for Werder Bremen, “it would not have been enough,” admits the VfL Wolfsburg fan.

The attacker wants to help SC Eichsfeld to a top place in the 1st district class B with his hunger for goals and his speed. “Of course I hope that we will secure the promotion in the end,” he says. The secret of success: “We are having a lot of fun at the moment.”
