The sports associations of the City of Chartres have ceased all activity since March 17, 2020, the day of confinement. Despite the start of deconfinement on May 11, most of them remain dormant and will not reopen until September.
“At the level of the City of Chartres, all the sports facilities covered and all the closed places that welcome the public are closed,” said Karine Dorange, deputy mayor in charge of school affairs, community life, youth and sports.

“We are waiting to know the provisions of the Government at the beginning of June. But, knowing that associative life generally stops in June and resumes in September, to avoid any regrouping and therefore any unnecessary risk, we have decided that all places closed, namely sports facilities and Homes for all , will remain closed until August 31. The archers of Chartres Horizon also asked the town hall of Chartres if they could resume individual shooting sessions on the outside shooting range of the Jean-Gallet stadium. “At the moment, the stadium is closed. We are awaiting the green light from the town hall, “said Noémie Connan, the head of the archery section. “When this is the case, the archers will be able to go there completely freely.
