Anger-Bauer goes on video in government

“We cannot maintain our courtyards with announcements, productions and promises,” he says and finally demands action from politicians.

The initially positive mood in the country vis-à-vis the government’s Corona measures has now evaporated. Entrepreneurs, restaurateurs, tourism professionals and farmers in particular are increasingly going on the barricades and finally require action from turquoise green.

Leo Streinbichler from Upper Austria is one of them. The farmer railed against the federal government in a video that was just over a minute long. “From the beginning, the government always emphasized that every profession would be helped, nobody would be left hanging, every euro would be replaced,” he says. “And now we see what came out of it,” he explains. Agriculture has suffered massive losses in all areas, from milk to feed to meat, says Steinbichler, who himself once sat on the National Council for the Stronach team. “We have prices like 40 years ago,” he complains. The big government summit on the topic of regionality with Agriculture Minister Elisabeth Köstinger (ÖVP), Chancellor Sebastian Kurz (ÖVP), the retail chains and “the so-called farmers’ representatives”, as Steinbichler says, did bring the result that regionality was preferred. But the reality is different. “What’s really going on in the supermarkets? Our products are being flung and, to top it off, cheap foreign products are also imported,” says the anger farmer.

“So what is it now, dear government? We cannot keep our courtyards with announcements, productions and promises. We urgently and quickly need tangible help,” he demands. In concrete terms, he also speaks of traceable food labeling so that consumers can decide what to buy. “Where Austria is written on it, Austria has to be in it. And the euro that is spent in Austria and given to agriculture works three times,” he concludes.

In the comments, many users agree with him and agree with his statements.

Where’s the promised Corona help?
