Headingley Australia’s pace attack was blocked by Harry Brook. England bounced back in the Ashes series with the bat of the 24-year-old. England won by three wickets on the exciting fourth day of the third cricket. The win gave life to the hosts who had lost the first two Tests. The series is now 2–1. Two Tests left. English pacer Mark Wood, who took seven wickets and 44 runs in both innings, was the man of the match. Starc got off to a good start for the Aussies by snaring Ben Duckett (23) in front of the wicket. Promoted Moeen Ali (5), captain Ben Stokes (13) and Jonny Bairstow (5) also fell victim to Starc. Captain Pat Cummins returned Zack Crowley who struggled with 44 runs off 55 balls. England got a scare when reliable Joe Root (21) was dismissed off an innocuous delivery by Cummins. England were 6-171 when Bairstow was dismissed. What followed was a beautiful performance by Brooke and Vox. Brooke, who hit nine fours, scored 21 runs for the win when Cummins caught Starc’s ball and England had reached the coast. Pacer Mark Wood (16 off 8 balls) left the balls he got to the boundary like in the first innings. He scored 28 runs off eight balls in the first innings. Vokes’ innings included four fours.
