Endemic disease … an urgent warning from the global health about the future of Corona

Today, Monday, the World Health Organization warned that the Corona virus could turn into a “systemic disease.”

“There is always a risk of any disease becoming endemic and systemic. We have seen these examples in the past,” said Mike Ryan, director of emergency programs at the World Health Organization.

A systemic or endemic disease is one that affects a group of organs and tissues or affects the entire body, and is described by this name, when there is control of the disease in certain places without any external effects, or because the conditions necessary for the transmission of infection do not occur except in specific places, Such as malaria, Ebola, AIDS and other diseases.

“If we look at the history of mankind, we will see that we have only managed to defeat smallpox … We have not succeeded so far, for example, in defeating polio or measles,” the global health official said, according to Russia today.

Ryan added, “Corona virus is spreading in almost all countries of the world, yet there is no complete access to vaccines … and this situation will continue in the near future … and for this reason the transmission of infection will continue.”

He pointed out that the Corona virus has several specifications that indicate that eliminating it will be difficult.

“We have an opportunity this year to significantly reduce the level of deaths and return to normal life … but the virus will continue to transmit for a long time if we fail to ensure the availability of vaccines in all places,” Ryan said.

He continued, “For this reason, the most important point now is to reduce the capabilities of this virus to spread to prevent it from destroying economies and killing people.”

Around 98 million people around the world have contracted the Coronavirus, while about 2.1 million people have died from the pandemic.
