DISCOVER FOOTBALL – Projekt 2020/2021
Empower women * in Iraq (all regions) in and through football
This year will DISCOVER FOOTBALL a 12-month leadership program for women in football / futsal in Iraq (all regions) organize that starts in January 2021.
The aim of the program is for the participants to learn or strengthen leadership skills and to apply them in their local sports context. We want to increase the visibility and participation of women * and girls * in sport and in society in Iraq (all regions). The curriculum for the workshops is supported by a Needs analysis at the beginning of the year tailored to the needs of the group. The workshops will cover topics such as communication, leadership, gender discrimination, stakeholder analysis, networking and support structures. DISCOVER FOOTBALL will work with international experts on women’s football and women’s rights to implement this program.
The main components will be a number of Online workshops in 2021 be. Participants will learn and share ideas in a series of online workshops over the duration of the program. They will apply what they have learned by working together and designing and implementing community sports initiatives for women and girls. In addition, they will take an active part in one DISCOVER FOOTBALL Football conference and one Festival in 2021 play.
The 2020/21 project consists of four phases:
- Needs analysis, including an online survey (November 2020 – February 2021)
- Online executive curriculum with 10 online sessions (January – December 2021)
- Conference in Berlin: Soccer players and experts from Iraq and the neighboring regions are invited to Berlin (August 2021)
- Women’s Football & Culture Festival in Iraq or a nearby region (November 2021)
