Emmen ‘bank employees’ arrested in Ommen | Inland

The police also suspect the three, ranging in age from 18 to 21, of a similar case last Saturday in Dalfsen, in which a resident lost an unknown amount.

According to the police, the three pretended to be bank employees in Ommen, with one of them approaching the woman by telephone with the story that her account may have been fraudulently and that her bank cards would be collected.

During the conversation with the fake bank employee, the doorbell rang and his ‘colleague’ was already at the door to take the cards and the pin code. Because the resident ultimately did not trust it, she immediately called her bank and the police. The accounts were blocked so that no money could be withdrawn.

Called officers then ran into a suspect nearby who fled, but with the help of bystanders, they were apprehended. The two other suspects were also arrested nearby. The bank cards in question were found with them, as well as goods related to the comparable case in Dalfsen.
