ABU DHABI, 21st December, 2020 (WAM) — His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, today had a telephone call with His Excellency Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Friendly Islamic Republic of Pakistan, during which the disturbing developments in Afghanistan and the decision of the Taliban in Afghanistan to ban university education for girls and women were discussed.
His Highness and Excellency affirmed that the true Islamic religion pays great attention to women, granting them a privileged position and safeguarding their rights, underlining the need to guarantee women’s rights and the importance of the full and equal participation of women and of girls in all aspects of life.
His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan and His Excellency Bilawal Bhutto Zardari clarified during the call the position of the UAE and Pakistan in support of security, stability and peace in Afghanistan and international efforts aimed at building a more sustainable future for friendly Afghan people .
