DUBAI, 9th December, 2020 (WAM) — His Excellency Abdullah Ali bin Zayed Al Falasi, Director General of Human Resources Department of Government of Dubai, has confirmed that the general budget cycle of the Government of Dubai for fiscal years 2023-2025, with a total expenditure of 205 billion dirhams, was approved by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. The Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, “may God protect him”, in his capacity as Ruler of the Emirate of Dubai, has come to consolidate Dubai’s distinguished position, fulfill its future aspirations, achieve prosperity for the society and meet its needs, and solidify the emirate’s position as a land of opportunity and innovation.
His Excellency said that the FY 2023 budget, which has been approved with a total expenditure of AED 67.5 billion, is part of an integrated plan to implement the Dubai 2030 Strategic Plan and realize His Excellency’s vision. Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council, who is very eager to provide government support. For families, the development of government work, the increase of institutional agility , enhancing Dubai’s global competitiveness and strengthening the position of human resources as a basis for directing government work.
He explained that the budget for the fiscal year 2023 confirms the interest that the wise leadership attaches to social services and the development of the sectors of health, education and culture, and the development of the Social Insurance Fund to support families , people of determination and people with limited income and raising the level of well-being and happiness of citizens and residents in Dubai, which consolidates Dubai’s position in the advanced ranks among the global indicators For the best cities to live and work in .
His Excellency stressed that the budget for the fiscal year 2023 also confirms the extent of the Dubai government’s interest in citizens, as 34% of the total public expenditure goes to the social development sector in the sectors of health, education , scientific research, housing, assistance to women and children, preparation of young people and their qualification for future jobs and assistance to the elderly and pensioners, with an increase of 4% compared to the 2022 budget .
