Emergency landing of aircraft Katowice – Zaporozhye occurred in Poland

The plane of Wizz Air, which flew from Polish Katowice to Zaporozhye, returned to the airport of departure and made an emergency landing. Nobody was hurt as a result of the incident.

It is reported that the pilot decided to make an emergency landing due to a technical malfunction of the landing gear. The decision was made immediately after take-off, but because of the full fuel tanks, the plane circled over Katowice airport for about an hour, as weight must be reduced for a safe landing.

“This aircraft model cannot drain fuel, so it was depleted during the flight near our airport,” said the representative of the Katowice airport, Piotr Adamczyk.

The landing was carried out with the assistance of the rescue and fire department of the airport and the fire department, but there was no need for their intervention.
