Elton John’s ex-wife plans to take legal action against the musician. What is behind this drastic decision is still unclear.
As the British daily “The Guardian” reports, Renate Blauel (67), ex-wife of music icon Elton John (73), filed an application for an injunction against the singer last week. According to the newspaper, the reason for this step is not known, Renate’s lawyer has only confirmed that the application has been made. Elton John has not yet commented on this incident and is silent.
The couple met in 1983 while working together on Elton John’s album “Too Low For Zero” in London. The German sound engineer then accompanied the dazzling pop star on his tour in Australia, where they also said yes on Valentine’s Day 1984. The marriage was divorced four years later. At that time, Elton John had also publicly acknowledged his homosexuality.
The couple may not have separated for the better. In his autobiography “Me”, Elton John recalls that his ex-wife did not want to visit him after he and his husband David Furnish (57) became parents for the first time. “I didn’t follow up,” says the artist. “I have to respect how she feels about it.”
