Elon Musk Says Starship Will Land on Moon Before 2024

Elon Musk says Starship will land with humans before 2024.

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA — The chairman of SpaceX, Elon Musk, confirms his confidence in the lunar lander project Starship for NASA. In a question from the account @artemis360_moon Asking whether Starship could land a man on the moon in 2024, Musk replied, it could be realized sooner, before 2024.

Musk’s confidence in questioning the Starship project emerged, following a complaint from the Blue Origin space organization run by Amazon boss Jeff Bezos, questioning the only one contract awarded to SpaceX. Blue Origin confirmed, SpaceX received special treatment from NASA.

“We are very concerned about the lack of flight readiness reviews in SpaceX’s proposals. SpaceX’s complex approach requires 16 consecutive launches with only three total flight readiness reviews instead of one for each launch which is consistent with common industry practice,” Blue Origin was quoted as saying. Fox Business, Sunday (15/8).

In fact, they continued, flight readiness is very important so that it can be reused in several future launches, apart from the main factor, safety.

In response, Musk dismissed it. He said his spaceship’s payload into orbit was 150 tons, so, without flaps and heat shields, the Starship would have been much lighter. Not only that, the moon landing leg is also called not increasing more.

According to the federal USASpending.gov website, which documents government spending, it is stated that the United States government has poured $439.6 million into SpaceX to date. That amount, is part of what is considered a $3 billion project.

The amount, also includes funds on July 30 last released by NASA. Known, they have paid around USD 300 million to SpaceX for Starship’s needs.
