In a new interview, the world’s richest man expressed his skepticism about Mark Zuckerberg’s idea of a metaverse and the claim that it would displace boring two-dimensional screens and make people around the world connected in a new way.
“Am I like those people who thought the Internet in ’95 was a fad or something that would never lead to anything?” He jokes. And typically in his style he adds that “Of course, you can put a TV on your nose”, but he’s not sure that will get you into the metaverse.
Musk obviously doesn’t like the idea of a future where people “stick a damn screen on their face all day and never want to leave.” According to him, it is quite awkward to be constantly with “this thing tied around your head”, targeting the augmented reality glasses through which Meta will function.
That is why he believes that we are too far from the time when we will get lost in the metaverse and forget about the real world, as Zuckerberg obviously hopes. And in Neuralink chips implanted in the brain sees a much better alternative for the future, reports Futurism.
